Yes, I did it! I packed all those threads into big zip-lock bags and squished them into that suitcase. They will be given to the 6 textile groups we’ll visit on my tour to South Africa in April. The threads are used in wonderful tapestries that create much needed income for the makers.
So many people contribute to collecting embroidery threads and about 50 pairs of reading glasses for me to take to South Africa. Among many others, thanks to the Mahone Bay Quilters Guild and The Bay Grans Grandmother Group. A generous donation of threads and sewing notions was sent from HA Kidd Company in Toronto. Many adventure to come! If you’re interested, please follow me on Instagram – valeriehearder or on Facebook where ‘ll be posting every few days.
