Intuthuko Sewing Group

intuthuko-rosina-moela-evie.jpgHere is Rosina, Moela and Evelyn sewing up the scarves made for the Grandmother's National Walk: Stride to Turn the Tide - to raise funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation. The Intuthuko group does wonderful detailed hand embroidery squares, pouches and bags. The women are single mothers and grandmothers caring for orphans of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and live in a desperately poor area. All works are bought on a Fair Trade basis, which is their only source of income. Your purchase helps to support this group.
