African Threads has donated over $10,000 to the Stephen Lewis Foundation for its Grandmothers-to-Grandmothers Campaign. 15% of profits from all retail sales from African Threads are donated for this extraordinary Campaign.

The Grandmothers-to-Grandmothers Campaign has formed  more than 250 groups across Canada. They’re dedicated to raising funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation's work with Grandmothers in Africa who care for an estimated 16,000,000 million AIDS orphans. These African Grandmothers need our support. They are the front line to keep the children alive and their communities together.

Your retail purchase from this site means a portion will make its way back to women in Africa. In a way, your purchase gives back twice... first by buying fair trade and creating income for women in Africa and secondly, by the donation that will go back to Africa via the Grandmothers Campaign.

Close to 90% of the fund raised for the Stephen Lewis Foundation goes directly to its projects.
